SOME HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN

The million pound signing on fee,the big mansion, the flashy cars, the fame, the beautiful ladies have not intoxicated some of our foreign based Ghanaian football stars at all. They have travelled round the world but have at least remembered their root.

The case of Michael Essien who has set up a charity foundation(MICHAEL ESSIEN FOUNDATION(MEF) ) to give back to the community where he grew up is a laudable piece of idea.Essien has been labelled a 'miser' by some Ghanaians but this initiative has really vindicated him and silenced his critics of some sort.

Another 'angelic' give-out to the community is former Ghana Black stars skipper, Stephen Appiah's registration of hundreds of kids with his own money for the 'NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME' which helps treat for free minor ailment. This story was different ten years back when foreign based players only flaunted their wealth and engaged in prodigal lifestyle.

We can also talk of Nii Odartey Lamptey who has set up a school(GLOLAMP INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL) to instill knowledge into the children but 'that is not free Nii,they pay shool fees':just by the way folks.

If each foreign footballer can see a child through tertiary education, our illeteracy rate would reduce drastically.

Kudos to those mentioned above and we hope others would emulate these gestures for the good of our community and Ghana as a whole.

GOD BLESS GHANA AND ALL COUNTRIES
